INCLUSIVE PRACTICE

We pride ourselves in working together for every child and believe ever child matters.

OUR SEND Coordinators are: Mrs Parker – Lead SENDco, Miss Mumby – Deputy SENDco

When children start at our settings they are observed for the first 6 weeks, this enables the child and staff to form natural attachments. From here the child is allocated a key person. A 2 year check will be done which informs the key person of where the child is according to ages and stages in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage. An additional screening is done called IAS (initial assessment sheet) which is exclusive to Little Ducklings. The idea is that if a child has any difficulties we can pick it up early to put strategies and support plans in place according to the ‘graduated approach’.

We feel this is an effective way of gathering information and supporting children and their families.
